I recall articles about the fabulous Kangaroos in the 60's irritating fans so much that they would require a police escort out of the arena. That would have been so cool to be able to upset so many people and get paid to do it.

Back then most of the headliners had the ability to do that. Then there's the old story of Killer Kowalski, who started a near riot and had fans throwing things at him on the way from the ring and one fan sucker punched him. He did nothing and prevented another wrestler from breaking the fan in two. In the lockerroom the other wrestler barked at Kowalski and asked why didn't do anything or nail the fan. The gentle Kowalski replied that he had driven the fans to react like that, so their behaviour should be expected as that was his goal.
