RIP to the Devious One!

Actually transcended several eras of WWF history. He held the tag team titles on multiple occasions in the early 1980's and then transitioned to manager of guys like The Magnificent Muraco, Demolition and The Powers of Pain. But, he stuck around into the so-called New Generation managing the Mighty Yokozuna.

I remember him prior to his WWF days wrestling in the Mid-Atlantic territory (which worked with Frank Tunney's Maple Leaf Wrestling before his nephew Jack got in bed with Vince). He was a very good heel wrestler, that feuded with Angelo Mosca at the Gardens.

The managers back in those days were comedic gold, (Bobby Heenan, Classie Fred Blassie, Jimmy Hart, Mr Fuji and of course Slick).

They played a very important role back in the day for heels. Nowadays the expectation is that the wrestler be strong behind the microphone I think.

Except for Brock Lesnar who has Paul Heyman as his "advocate".

I remember Mr. Fuji. He must have channeled Harold Sakata (Oddjob) when he developed his character's look.
