Forbes values TFC at $270 M

The Star has an article today that Forbes values TFC at $270 M. In the same article they say that the club also loses $9 M per year. What kind of voodoo economics are used to come up with this valuation?

Yes its strange, if MLSE ever put the team up for sale, they would never get anything close to that amount. I have never understood how MLS can get away with the expansion fees they charge, when most teams are bleeding cash.

What does Forbes value the Arizona Coyotes at? The valuation is likely based more on speculation of leagues future more than anything else. The league does continue to add new teams, so they may see that as growth and valuation potential.
