Nice to see the Argos continuing to work hard to find players.

Interesting. Jones holding a mini-camp in Florida that ends the day before the Als mini-camp get's started an hour's drive away.

Be interesting to see who is at 3 day Vet mini-camp next weekend in Mississauga and whom they invite on the receiver side as they begin to install offense. Will give us a good idea what the offense will look like this year.

I have asked this on another thread but is this a three-day mini-camp next weekend? On the Argo site, they say that it will take place on Saturday but they give no indication that it will go beyond that one day which is puzzling.

Still would like to see some D lineman brought in for competition at camp.

They are doing a 3 day one in Tampa this week. So they are really doing two. One in Toronto with vets and another in florida with import prospects.

The one in Tampa appears to be a free agent camp and they have had several of those this off-season. The one in Toronto seems to be a one-day mini-camp with veterans and newly signed players and they are allowed to have three days of such off-season activities with those who voluntarily show. If they have vets and/or newly signed players showing up for two days in Tampa, then that would constitute the other two days of their off-season activities but I am not sure that the Argos are doing this.

Because there has been a HC change. The team is allowed a mini-camp for the vets. So it looks like they are taking full advantage of this rule.

The Argos must be holding earlier tryout camps this year, going by the players being signed lately. This one last year was in late April, close to the Mini Camps.
Chris Jones maybe was late starting last year because he only came on board in December 2011.

Last year names like Ball, Horne, Carter, Dixon, Armstead, Carroll, Watkins and Harris were just that, unknown names to most of us. Somehow I can't see that many new imports cracking the lineup this year, but some of the new players will stick. There is always an opening from unexpected retirements or because somebody is just better.
