Blue Bombers New Logo & Helmet

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are proud to launch their newest logo, wordmark and helmet design today in advance of the 2012 season and a week before all CFL teams will be unveiling their new home and away jerseys.

I just feel like it could be any team logo starting with a "W"...people who aren't CFL fans won't look at it and go "ohh, thats Winnipeg"

Guess it all depends on how old one his and what they feel is "retro". To me its the uniforms they wore for 90% of the time I've ever watched CFL and I'm over 40.

Excellent logo. Hope they go back to the royal blue jerseys as well. One unsettling rumour is that their road jerseys won't be white, which can only mean yellow/gold. The so-called retro golds they wore in recent years were very ugly, IMO, especially when combined with stripeless dark blue pants and socks that looked like pyjama bottoms.

I'm 32 and I find it pretty lame. I thought the logo they had was fine.

I know that you are a relatively new fan to the CFL. Think of the reaction if the Browns suddenly put a logo on their helmet or the Chiefs changed their logo which might be a better analogy. It never felt right to me when the Bombers changed their logo in 1995 from the traditional W and their play on the field has generally not been as good since either (coincidence? ;-))

That makes sense, and I understand that. I guess maybe it just reminds me too much of the University of Washington's helmet, but that's maybe me being an American problem, haha.
