Mike has just kicked off the 2nd annual food drive for the GTA ending May 17th part of Tackle Hunger. This is usually a slow period for food banks and he's working across 7 GTA areas to lend a hand. He has a matching donor prepared to match up to $250,000 raised. Last year this Tackle Hunger campaign raised $175,000 or the equivalent of 437,000lbs of food for those less fortunate. We're helping out in Durham and expect some Argo players will assist our fundraising. Direct message me if you're interested in getting involved.

More details are found on his tweet below:

"Pinball's" goal for 2107 GTA JustGive over the next 55 days is to raise the equivalent of 1.5 million lbs of food. He has partnered with the Toronto Argonauts and Purolator.

Last year's total of 437,000 lbs wasn't reported during the CFL/Purolator campaign and I noted a paltry 14,000 lbs raised on the scoreboard at that game in Toronto. The mayors in Burlington and Niagara are involved and it's likely the Ticats as well.

"Pinball" has momentum in his JustGive31 food drive. He hopes to collect 1.5 million lbs of food in the GTA. This year, the Argos will count this under "Tackle Hunger." Last year 440,000 lbs of food was raised, but forgotten to count it under Tackle Hunger. Consequently, Argos reported an paltry 14,000 lbs of food collected.

"Pinballs" JustGive video explains the campaign beautifully: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=51x-vJ8hHnQ

"Pinball": I'm burdened by how much there's to do! Mike was on TSN1150 for his May 17th Food Drive. Niagara to Durham $500,000 goal (includes his Foundation 50/50 match). That's a goal of 1.25 million lbs of food for summer's low giving period when demand is highest. If you love "Pinball", then help him, help others at JustGive.ca.

Good morning ArgofanIan. Next Wednesday, May 17th is the culmination of the Just Give food drive. I understand that Mike will be greeting commuters at Union Station starting at 7:45am. You can bring food or you can cheque. And hand it over directly. I am sure you know Mike. He is extremely grateful to those that give whatever I within their means.

If you can't physically get there, just go to JustGive.ca and click on the donation link. For every $1 given, Mike will match it with a $1. Our food bank Feed the Need Durham with their buying power can buy $20 of food (10x).

ArgofanIan did you go see "Pinball" on Wednesday morning?

Put my Argo Season ticket holder shirt on from a couple years ago and dropped off a couple bags of food at union station. Mike was very busy but I got to speak with him briefly. They were very happy to get the food. Mike and a couple others noticed I was an ARGO fan and had some kind words about us ARGO fans .... I figure Mike was real busy with this event and that is why he wasn't at the town hall.

if there is any future ARGO type charity events in the future.... where I could donate a few bucks or bags of food please let me know.... hopefully we can get behind the Puralator tackle hunger game at BMO this year.... not sure what game our Puralator game is yet...

GO ARGOS !!!

I heard a about the "Argos" fan that showed up at Union Station with two big shopping bags of food on Saturday night. You made such a big impression, that they were still talking about you on the weekend! Well done ArgofanIan!

I'm going to take you up on that offer! We try and participate when we can on "Pinballs" charity initiatives. He gives a lot of thought to initiatives. He focuses on the biggest need.

During all of June Argos will contribute $2 off every ticket sold to the Pinball Foundation in order to help empower youth in Toronto.
