GAME THREAD: Edmonton vs. Winnipeg

The undefeated Eskimos goes against the rapidly improving 5-2 Bombers Thursday at 8:30 PM EST. While the high-scoring Winnipeg offence is second only to Calgary's, its defence gives up the second most points per game. While a good defence (Edmonton has given up 52 points less) usually beats a good offence, I'm going with Winnipeg on a hunch that the Eskimos are due for an off game.

An important factor that is likely to influence the game's is injuries: Winnipeg has 4 people on its one and six games injured list; Edmonton has 20 on these lists.

Esks have to lose eventually and I think this may be the week it happens.

Esks hung in there and made a game of it - with such an injury depleted line-up.

IF they had the likes of Sherritt, Greenwood, Bowman, Zylstra, Hunt, Jon White, King and a bunch of other injured starters in the line-up ... ?

Bet they might get star receiver Walker back from an NFL try-out, and him with Bowman, Zylstra and impressive rookie Williams at receiver ... ?

The 20 injured players on the one and six game lists plus the additional injuries definitely were major factors in the game, but Harris 105 yards on the ground and 120 through the air were a remarkable performance nevertheless.
