Due editing, a lot of mind games Disney and the EP's are trying to play. Personally I think it's crazy the amount of force strength Rey already has, Anakin wasn't even that strong after years of training, and he was generally thought to have unlimited potential, and quite possibly the most "force sensitive" in the Star Wars Universe. So long as the film is good, not an Empire copy, and Rey ends up being a Skywalker: I'll be happy I suppose.

We hear Luke remark how he's only seen this power once before, so we'll get some kind of explanation why she is so powerful, so quick. The more I read, I'm beginning to be convinced that the movie will introduce a type of Gray or Whills like Jedi, that will wield both force powers. I also believe Obi-Wan is connected to Rey. This movie with feature Walkers attacking the Rebellion base, Luke training Rey like Yoda did to himself,,, it's just like Empire! Disney has proven to make great movies and with nostalgia at an all time high, I'm sure it will make the nerds (myself included) happy.

"First comes the day
Then comes the night.
After the darkness
Shines through the light.
The difference, they say,
Is only made right
By the resolving of gray
Through refined Jedi sight."

After watching Ep7 I joked that she'd be Luke's master after a few days, based on her rapid progress.

So long as the film is good, not an Empire copy...
Good is good, but yeah, it would be nice to see some originality.

Good is good, but yeah, it would be nice to see some originality. The way I look at it is: Force Awakens gave us fans the nostalgia we were looking for in the Star Wars story, now they can hopefully take it forward with some new ideas. In saying that I have no issue with Star Wars being about the Skywalkers, as that was Lucas' intent, well actually Star Wars was supposed to be Luke's story, but that obviously evolved. With "Legends" no longer being canon, they can do a lot of different things in the future............... or is it the past ? Never understood the "a long, long time ago" at the intro of the films lol.

Saw the film and really liked it. Just don't go in with pre conceived ideas and take in what they present to you.

I thought it was just a meh. wasn't crazy about the ending, and Kylo's not much of a villian IMO, just an emo millennial.

I agree. By no means a bad movie. Sabre fight with Kylo/Rey was awesome. Millienium Falcon looked great and had amazing scenes. The return of a Jedi Master warmed the heart.

SPOILERS!!! Next

I didn't like the way the characters were developed. We just get to know Snoke, still no background or info except he's a bad guy, and now he's dead! We finally get to see Luke return, but he's gone. Hated how he threw his old lightsabre away. He would have never done that, especially with all the lead up to that moment. The big mystery surrounding Rey was unsolved. It felt like all the drama experienced in the Force Awakens was thrown away for a barely there plot.

6/10

I saw TLJ a couple of weeks ago, and... well, I was more annoyed than entertained. The opening "brass blare" + text crawl is still thrilling, but the SW formula no longer entertains me. Rogue One was a refreshing and exciting departure, but TLJ returns to the dull formula.

I remain optimistic about Rian Johnson's career, though; Looper is terrific. I hope he spends his fat Star Wars paycheque *experimentally*.
