At Skydome, Oct 27, 2007, the Argos beat Winnipeg 16-8, in front of (are you sitting down?) 40,116 fans.

Yeah, sure, a lot of them were probably on free tickets but still, wow, looking at old photos of that game, it's a reminder of what football in Toronto can be like in a packed stadium. I'm confident we'll get back to big crowds eventually.

That game was also a celebration of the all-time Argos team so 40k+ was a nice backdrop to that. 2006-07 was what I like to call the "dead ball" era of Canadian football as scoring really dropped off in those two seasons.

Having followed the Argos for over 40 years. I have seen many ups and downs and there is little doubt in my mind that the day will come again where the Argos are a hot - or at least lukewarm - ticket. I suspect that day isn't far off.

My buddy and I said much the same thing at the Winnipeg game! Except, without resorting to google, we couldn't come up with the character George Peppard played...Hannibal...thank you...Lol!
