Word was that he wanted the Commissioner's Chair, so either he retired on his own since he knows he won't get it or was pushed out. In either case the League is better off without him, and the League should be looking at giving Ireland and Harbin the boot as well.

Yup. Only negative here is that Johnson will stick around in a consultant type role.

I see the hand of a former player Randy Ambrosie here. I think Johnson was pushed into retirement. The CFL is in the entertainment business. But it is the players who are suppose to do the entertaining not the officials.
Tom Higgins had the borderline calls down and then Glen came in and had his officials call anything and everything, or least it seemed that way especially three years ago. Was a big turn off IMO.
