I am calling for the upset here, with Drew Willy having a big game against his former team.

At the half Streveler has already passed for 196 yards and 2 TDs while going 18/22 and Harris has 90 yards rushing and receiving to give the Bombers a 34-7 lead. The Als OL barely exists as an immobile Willy repeatedly gets pummelled.

What an ugly game. 56-10 with 2:34 left on the clock...

While comparing teams game to game is somewhat dangerous, Winnipeg's total offensive dominance of the Als, raises questions about BC, whose offence against Montreal was very inconsistent as Jennings, although going 20/24 for 183 yards, rarely could sustain drives and only led 15-10 until six minutes were left last week. The Lions did score 36 and 34 points in their two preseason games but this involved playing against quite a few backups and players who did not even make the Calgary and Winnipeg rosters. In the Als game, Jennings looked very similar to his inconsistent self of last season. Time will tell whether he has overcome his problems from last year.

With only approximately 8,500 STH, this debacle is likely to cause a large drop in attendance from the 19,498 at this game for the Als.

I thought Montreal would at least have a decent defense this year. Mike Sherman, like so many others before him, is finding out just how good this League is. But nobody can win without a good QB, and I don't know where they're going to find one this year.

Very impressed by the play of this rookie QB Strevler - decent arm, very fast & athletic running QB and looking pretty poised. Might be a tough decision to be made when Nichols gets healthy? - pretty sure he will get his starting job back, but they have to be quite happy with Strevler as the alternative.

Also impressive is the Bombers Canadian receiver contingent - Demski looks like a fit and could live up to his potential; last year's supplemental pick Wolitarsky looking very good (3 TD catches already); and 2 draft picks - Simoinse blocks a punt on special teams, and then follows up with a 50 plus yard reception beating a top corner in Tommy Campbell; and Dan Petermann (steal of the draft IMO) checked in with a reception too. Bombers arguably all of a sudden have (IMO) the most talented NI receiver corps in the league - they start 2 Canadians in their 5 pack and could probably easily go with 3 - if an injury strikes one their proven vet import receivers (Bowman, Adams & Dressler) = and arguably the deepest receiving corps in the league now ... although that Stamps group - bolstered by the return of Rogers - looks very strong and dangerous, Ticats corps is very good too IMO with 4 CFL thousand yard receivers in the line-up (coulda been 5 if they had kept Fantuz)

Yes, OV Argo, Strevler has certainly impressed. I can see why Davis was cut, although I still that he also has ability and a future as a CFL QB.
