Rather than closing threads when they degenerate into arguing about who's pure and who's dirty, why don't mods simply move those particular posts into their own, clearly labelled, thread so that the actual discussion can continue. I'm sure there could still be worthwhile discussion about what it will take for Toronto to love the Argos; if a dozen or so posts (including some of mine) that didn't contribute in any positive way to that discussion were simply moved elsewhere, the thread (and the discussion) could continue.
