So I'm sure everyone read about it on the Argos site.

The Yahoo site had an interesting bit as well.

I liked Murphy's edge. I also like how the kid comes out in him at certain times..... Like when talking about his kids.

I HATED him when he was a Lion but grew to like the way he played when he was at the top of his game as an Argo.

I always had mixed feelings about Rob Murphy, both as a Lion and an Argo. While his dirty tactics and abrasive, brash nature sometimes led to unnecessary penalties and were over-the-line even in the tough world of pro football, he did give it his all and improved the Argo line, at least in his first year, even if he was no longer what he was as a Lion (Wally always seems to know when it times to let a veteran go).

The fact that this thread started so late and has been so short might indicate that many Argo fans - or at least the ones on here - have some ambivalent feelings about Murphy. He did not have a good season in '09 but was much better in 2010 before having his season cut short due to injury last year. I do think that he is retiring at the right time.

15 knee surgeries is a lot. Who knows one more and they might be gone forever.
