I'm surprised no one has picked up Van Glyswyk. That kid had a strong leg, and was pretty good in the CIS.

Pfeffer injured, so he's not going anywhere right now. Also, releasing him makes zero sense at this point because Pfeffer is still doing very well at kickoffs and punts. Same thing happened to Maver in Calgary, yet they kept him, and while no longer place kicking, easily one of the best directional punters in the League.

Well I guess Mederios is healthy.

all in all, let pfeiffer go cause he is using up a roster spot [when he gets healthy]
and shows team that poor performance will not be tolerated

Can’t say I’m very excited with this move. Seen him in practice last year and yeah.....

Right on. Far too early to give up on Pfeffer.

Agreed. Let Pfeffer handle the punts and kickoffs when he's healthy.

That's what I would do too. As mentioned earlier, Rob Maver was supposed to be a lights out all purpose kicker, but has settled into what I consider to be the best punter in the league. I think Pfeffer's punting has improved so much from his first go around in the league, that they should just let him concentrate on that and kickoffs because of his leg. In pro football, you really need a place kicker to be near perfect inside the 40.

I never in a million years would have guessed that Brett Lauther would have the type of leg and accuracy he has displayed this year. I remember Paul Osbaldiston really struggling when he first came into the league. Kickers do improve with added reps.

When it comes to kickers, it's actually easier for a punter to learn how to placekick than it is for a placekicker to learn how to punt. European soccer players brought in to be placekickers take forever before being able to punt adequately.

I would have preferred Sergio Castillo who has a 45.0 career punting average and a 83.0% career FG average including 85.3% last year, even if he is an International. Teams cannot afford to throw away points on missed FGs, especially low-scoring ones like the Argos.

after watching the arg/redblacks game for 1/4 his PAT seemed great - right down the middle and his punting skills were on point

I agree, Medeiros did a very nice job in all aspects tonight.

He did. I'm hoping the Argos keep Pfeffer around though - either on the PR or punting and kickoffs. I'd rather not see the 2015 kicking issues occur again.

Would be stupid to do something with Pfeffer with the small sample size on Medeiros.

Popp isn't Barker, but it's happened to Pfeffer before..........

Medeiros was 1/1 from the 32, but missed a convert. Pfeffer is still a good punter and has deep kickoffs, so it really doesn't mean anything. At least to me. I need to see more from Medeiros on his FGs before really evaluating him.

I think Medeiros deserves another chance – those punts were very, very good. That one he stuck on the 2 / 3 yard line that bounced out on the 6? That was impressive. Pfeffer has been punting well also but his fg kicking has been abysmal. To me, the door is wide open for Medeiros to take that roster spot.
