Seattle in the NHL

Seattle was officially granted a NHL franchise on Tuesday by a unanimous vote of the Board of Governors. It will begin play in the 2021-2022 season in the Key Arena, which will undergo an $800 million dollar renovation. The team name has been chosen but the owners have applied for the following internet domains: Seattle Cougars,Seattle Eagles, Seattle Emeralds, Seattle Evergreens, Seattle Firebirds, Seattle Kraken, Seattle Rainiers, Seattle Renegades, Seattle Sea Lions, Seattle Seals, Seattle Sockeyes, Seattle Totems, and Seattle Whales.

My favourite name is Eagles. Please do not let it be Kraken.

I'm hoping for the Seattle Fraser Cranes, Seattle Martin Cranes, Seattle Niles Cranes or Seattle Maris Crane.

The Vancouver Canucks see the addition of Seattle to the NHL as a potential bonus for themselves. However, that will take time because the kind of rivalry the Argos and Ticats have takes years to develop.
