Sure hope Randy can get that QB rule changed so Canadian QB's can count in the 21 man "Nationals". I can't see the Coaches being against it as they could have an extra Import backup at another position and who could also help out the ST's.
Picton's has a pretty good arm IMO, but his size will always be a problem. I think a Canadian QB out of the CIS has an advantage (if he has the skill) over an American kid because he doesn't have to constantly be thinking the game and rules etc.

Well if the AAF is signing all these American qbs (Blake Sims and Alex Ross for example) then perhaps the CFL will be forced to enter the CIS and provide Canadian qbs with more opportunities.

Might make some sense but very doubtful it happens; we shall see if any of - Hugo Richard, Mike O'Connor, Chris Merchant or Adam Sinagra get real CFL TC looks next season; and none of them have the little guy factor that might weigh heavily against Picton.

Glad to see a deserving Canadian QB get a shot. However, I'm still skeptical about a Canadian QB getting more than a token opportunity, given the CFL's history in dealing with Canadian QBs. However, one never knows. There was a time when Canadians as primary RBs were extremely rare and now in six of the last seven CFL seasons, the leader in rushing yardage has been a Canadian, after it occurring once in 55 years.

I’ll believe it when I see it, CFL teams should start paying more attention to USports QB’s considering the possible talent exodus to the NFL (and other league’s).

Heisman Trophy-winning Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray has declared for the draft.

He is likely to be drafted in the first round of this years NFL draft. If a 5'9" quarterback can play in the NFL, hopefully a 5'9" Canadian quarterback can make it in the CFL.

Apparently according to Rod Pederson. Picton has been released:
