I wish I could, but my touch football game this week is at 12:30 in Ajax. I wouldn't get to UTM until about 2:45. No use, but I think I'll be at practice on Sunday.

What is this "mock game" ? - an intra-squad game?

In the old days of Ottawa Rough Rider football - they used to have an intra-squad game during TC (called it the Black & White game) - used to draw some pretty decent crowds at Lansdowne as i recall; and it was a serious game that could determine who was going to make the cut.

Yeah I think it is an intra-squad game.

Actually, I was at last years, and it's not a real intrasquad game..at least not like the old Blue-White games of the 70's and perhaps early 80's. They bring in actual officials, and run game like situations, but it isn't an actual game.

Apparently the location of the mock game has been changed to Nelson High School in Burlington.

Ray looked sharp. Inman #11 receiver also looks good.

How was it?
now I'm not a football expert ..... but I can give you some info.
They played various scenarios through the mock game. Red zone plays, offense starting on their 5 yard line, some special team scenarios.I was watching the offense for the most part, but the D-Line looked strong.
As the first team was playing it looked like they were trying out various receivers. Parker, Inman and I think Carter got touchdowns. Hurst played well too.Owens was successful about 50% of the time. Kackert had a few runs. They didn't appear too productive as there were various penalties . Durie didn't play.... not sure why although the site said a few players sat out for 'preventive" measures.
Pre took most of the punts, Alix took some field goals..... and did the special teams practice kicks on what unique plays can arise when the field goal misses. (I wonder if they will be staying with Alix or not)
The O-line looked good with W.Smith, Gagne-Marcoux, Parenteau, Eppele and Van Zeyl ...... the second team was not as strong.
Hopefully others can update you further with more detailed info.

I'm thinking that he is in the mix to stay but I am never sure how many WR they keep or where others are slotted and just play R once in awhile eg Owens and Durie
Will they cut some after the first exhibition game? I'm not sure what the scenario is if they have a limited number of transactions before the season.

The thing is, right now, that Barnes, Mann and Durie didn't practice yesterday because of various ailments. Apparently nothing is serious, but that has given someone like Inman the opportunity to be on the first-line WR corps taking passes from Ray. We'll see how he does against Hamilton, although I'm not sure how much Ray will play in that game.

Rosters get trimmed before the second game. After the first game, it's a gaurantee some players will be released before the next practise.
