Former Argo Doran Major has passed away

I remember Doran Major quite well. Played in the late 80's & may have been a member of the that great 87 team that lost the cup. Very solid player.

Yes he was a member of that team, although, I believe he had lost his starting spot to David Daniels late in the year. I remember he and Selwyn Drain were both brought in by Obie, and were solid at the hb positions. I alos remember him being very visible in T.O. year round.

Sad to hear -- gone far too young. Doran was a really solid DB in the late 1980s, and the co-star (with Pinball) in multiple episodes of the Home Boys, a comedy routine that appeared regularly on TSN's CFL Report in 1991.

I instantly feel sick and so sad I want to cry. Man when we're losing these young guys who we got to watch and love playing for the double blue. Lori must be beside herself. Doran was a great player and person.
I still joke to my wife about Yard Bird everytime we have chicken because of those great episodes of Home Boys. Sad when you get so close to each team member when you get as involved as we all were and Lori continues to be the closest to all these guys.

This has been a tough off-season with the losses of Doug MacIver, Eric Harris, Warren Hudson and now Doran Major (have I missed anyone?). Up until a few years ago, there were very few players who I had seen play for the Argos that were no longer with us but that has certainly changed over the last three or four years.

I was just thinking of the players who I have seen play but there are a bunch more former Argos who have recently passed like Mann who few of us on here would have seen. It definitely has been a tough off-season with all of the former Argos who have passed away.
