QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson has opted out of his Argo contract, which was to end in February 2021, to pursue NFL opportunities.

It appears that 9 players on the Argo potential roster, have opted to leave and try their luck in the NFL. Only BTM has actually played for the team. Suspect most will be back to try to make the team next year. Also note Ryan Hunter has been released. Wonder if he will be trying to make the team next season?

Whoops----got McLeod Bethel-Thompson's initials confused on above post --sorry folks. While on the subject of MBT, does anyone have an update of his recent activities related to the NFL? Can't believe some NFL teams wouldn't be interested in taking a look at him.

I have no inside dope about MBT or anyone else, but I imagine most of the opt-outs are hoping teams run into injuries or illness that open up extra spots as the season goes on.

Ryan Hunter becoming available to the Argos next year would be a huge bonus.

Hunter will probably be back on KC's PR this year.

Patience may be a virtue in this case, Hunter is only 25 years old.

Maybe they have some patience with him; but he also bombed bad when he got to play a bit last season which led to got cut (they brought him back); maybe still a fine CFL/Argo prospect, but also could join a long list of highly rated CFL O-line prospects who couldn't cut it in the pros (Argos have had too many of those).

A lot of Chiefs fans were celebrating Hunter's departure on Twitter, while suggesting every snap he played last season (I think someone said 14) resulted in pressure in the backfield.

KC does seem to have moved on (https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2020/09/08/kansas-city-chiefs-sign-danny-isidora-to-practice-squad/).
