I don't have an issue with this (https://www.tsn.ca/rich-stubler-toronto-argonauts-cfl-1.1664531) in and of itself. He is close with Pinball obviously and LB coach Kevin Eiben would have played under him. I just hope that is in some sort of (i) consultant/advisory role and (ii) he doesn't step on our DC's toes at all! I still got nightmares of his last stint as DC in 2016.

I definitely was ready for Stubler to go both of the last two times he was here. I came to hate the bend-but-don't-break approach. But Pinball knows more than I do, obviously. Let's hope Stubler adds some real value to the coaching staff. Perhaps a role below co-ordinator is all he will need for that to happen.

As long as it’s Glenn Young’s D and not his, I’m ok with him helping out. I agree with Paul on the bend but don’t break philosophy. In today’s game of ball control O, bend but don’t break plays right into the hands of the offence.

I thought Stubler’s D philosophy had become rather outdated as time went on, “bend but don’t break” doesn’t work anymore.
With all of the assembled talent on the defensive side of the ball it would be a waste to not have an aggressive defensive scheme.

I've always hated the bend but don't break philosophy. I prefer the punch them in the mouth twice then make them punt from their 5 approach.

As is tradition, I want to take this time to wish Coach Davis well in his future endeavours and thank him for his contributions to the Toronto Argonauts football team.

I guess we'll be seeing Charleston Hughes drop back into coverage most of the time.

(Just kidding)

(I hope)

Good job remembering this important tradition, thrill!
