Seven Argos make Eastern All Stars.

Looking at the entire list, not sure how Chris Van Zeyl was chosen for the east. Did he even play half the season? They didn't differentiate between L or R for the tackle position, but Dejon Allen played the whole season, and was pretty damn good IMO, and I would have picked Campbell if he hadn't missed the last few games. CVZ's best days are long gone, and frankly looked pretty bad last game against the Argos. He couldn't handle Ray at all and it resulted in a lot of hurries by Masoli. Reputation pick if you ask me.

Anyway, Argos that were selected: MBT, Gittens, Nicastro, Oakman, Edwards, Richardson and Bede.

If memory serves, CVZ got chosen once or twice as an Argo for seasons when he was mediocre to decent, but definitely not a star. O-line picks in particular seem to be based largely on reputation. I agree Allen had an excellent season for the Argos. Campbell was good, not necessarily all-star calibre (but then, neither was CVZ).

Weren't necessarily many 'juicy' picks to be had for the Argonauts this year due to the revolving door at several positions.

Many veteran stars in many sports have made all-star teams based not on current performance but on past reputation and especially where there are not a lot of stats to differentiate these positions for those who select the teams but are not as deeply conversant with individual play as some others are.
