Argonauts release DE Charleston Hughes.
No shock with this move he was largely ineffective this season and isn’t getting any younger.

Unfortunately, his level of play wasn't what it was several years ago, and given that he was signed for two years this move was inevitable.

The 2020 hiatus could have either rejuvenated Hughes or accelerated the deterioration of his skills, unfortunately it appears the latter was the case.

Great guy, future Hall of Famer, but he seemed to have little left in the tank this year. Perhaps with a different system and different personnel surrounding him, he can dominate again, but I wouldn't bet on that happening.

Agreed.

Singing vet players based on past glory days is a risky or tricky affair - sometimes it works out; often it does not.
