For many of us Pat Summerall and John Madden were NFL football on any given Sunday afternoon calling some of the biggest games in the history of that league.
Madden combined football knowledge and a sense of humour that you don’t find anymore.
RIP to a true legend!

Madden was also one of the first in the sport to recognize the dangers of concussions. He was against putting a player back in the game that had a head injury, and on air compared that boxers had to wait 30 days before being allowed to fight again. This was back in 1981, when a head injury was referred to as just having your bell rung. He definitely was ahead of his time.

There were some fools on Twitter trying to score points by taking shots at Madden over this topic.
