We didn't have social media at the time and I was 6 years old. How did those old enough feel about the trade at the time? Were you optimistic that it would work out much better than it did?

Yes, we were getting a top-flight QB and Mouse Davis was coming back as offensive coordinator so the sky seemed like the limit at the time - at least to me it did.

Promising; but a classic example of sports dumbness - trying to fit a square peg in a round hole; Ham was the greatest running QB in the history of the game (IMO); he was not a sit back and read and pick Ds apart with his passing arm QB; an offence needs to be designed to a QB like that's strength.

If only John Davis and Cam Brousseau would have reported…if only.

The Argos sure gave up a lot, but I was excited to get Ham, as he was thought to be the next best QB to Flutie at the time. The Run and Shoot offence was terrible with a new QB and all sorts of rookie receivers. Recipe for disaster combined with a running QB who had to throw every down. What a let down.

At the time sure...Tracy Ham was just that big a QB...but gutting the entire core of the team for him? Yeah, that didn't work. Adam Rita, who was working with the Eskimos at that point, knew who to add. Probably the biggest loss was Eddie Brown. The rest of the Argos given in the trade were on the decline but he was an up and coming superstar. The 93 Grey Cup win by Edmonton should've come with an Argos assist.
