Re: Game Thread: Toronto Argonauts at Ottawa Redblacks, Friday, October 16

I finally got around to listening to Arbuckle’s post game comments. The question about whether or not you should let analytics determine your current action is an interesting one. People forget that analytic numbers are based on a large number of past actions, and are not a reflection on what has go...

Re: Game Thread: Toronto Argonauts at Ottawa Redblacks, Friday, October 16

As we have seen too many times over the years. the Argos snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It would be interesting to know what the play calling was both at the 3 min mark and with 30 sec left, compared to what Arbuckle actually did. Bad interception, but they still could have run more time...

About the only positive thing you can say about the Argos so far is that their younger players have gotten some playing time and thus experience.

Re: Game Thread: Toronto Argonauts at Ottawa Redblacks, Friday, October 16

I lived in Ottawa for half a dozen years, and have lots of relatives in the area. I believe that Ottawa broke records for the amount of rain they had this summer. Usually in October/November they get 7 or 8 days of rain per month The early weather forecast is for rain on Friday but sunny with clouds...

Re: Where does this receiving corps rank for you?

It's the '91 team for me, followed by '97. For me the enjoyment of watching Pinball live on plays was more exciting than waiting for a replay isolation to see the moves of the wide receivers. 2019: S.J Green, Derrel Walker, Armanti Edwards (bad team mind you), but all 3 went over 1000 2005: Robert B...

Re: Game Thread: BC Lions vs. Toronto Argonauts Sat Oct 3 at 3 pm ET

To me the most important stat in this game was that Rourke was 15 of 32 in passing. I am too lazy to look up the last time he had a completion rate of 50% or less, but it is pretty rare. He usually averages around 70%. Some of this may have been pressure from the Argos, but he has faced other defenc...

Re: Game Thread: BC Lions vs. Toronto Argonauts Sat Oct 3 at 3 pm ET

Fortunately this game didn't matter to the Argos. But how pathetic was their goal line offence? The defence was adequate but by no means was the Lion's offence as sharp as they can be.

On to Ottawa on the 16th.

Re: Game Thread: BC Lions vs. Toronto Argonauts Sat Oct 3 at 3 pm ET

Argos offence in the 3rd quarter. One unlucky fumble recovery by BC. Then 2 or 3 two plays and out. BC is blitzing on practically every play and the offence has no answer for it. BC driving for more points as the 4th quarter starts. BC so far has double the yardage the Argos have.

Re: Game Thread: BC Lions vs. Toronto Argonauts Sat Oct 3 at 3 pm ET

12-10 BC at the half. As usual the Argos do not have much of a rushing attack, and could not run the clock down more before the half giving BC a chance to move the ball and kick a field goal. Still BC being limited to 4 field goals is pretty good. Argos have been lucky and unlucky. Lucky because BC'...

Re: Game Thread: BC Lions vs. Toronto Argonauts Sat Oct 3 at 3 pm ET

I wonder if Deslaurant can be the 3rd and short guy. He supposedly is 6-5 and weight 229 lbs, and has rushed for yardage. Also his completion percent has been decent. I hope he gets some game action.
