The game against Edmonton at Commonwealth didn't go well at all. It would be nice for the Argos to beat one of the upper tier teams in the league, though. They are 4-1 against Ottawa and Hamilton, but 3-5 against the rest of the league.
There is a playoff clinching scenario this weekend. The Argos will clinch a playoff berth + a home playoff game if they win against the Elks and the Alouettes beat the Tiger-Cats on the night before.

The Elks have feasted on turnovers this year so far, and have given up the fewest points of any team by far. If the Argos can win the turnover battle (the Elks have had some fumbles) they can win this game.

A normal game week will have the Argos more prepared this week. I think Argos roll.

No doubt Edmonton players are still celebrating the beat down that they instilled on thier provincial rivals on Forty Creek Quadruple Saturday. I can picture the players getting free whiskey at the finest salloons Edmonton has to offer, getting hot towel shaves while regailing game tails to the locals, merchants handing out the finest pelts to thier heros, free admission to the dog sled races. Well enjoy. Once you fly into civilization later this week, you will not be able to rise to the level you displayed against VA. There will be no answer for the Argos aerial attack & Cody will be running for his life all afternoon.

I know you were trying to disparage Edmonton there, but that all sounds like a good time to me.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2026 5:19 pm No doubt Edmonton players are still celebrating the beat down that they instilled on thier provincial rivals on Forty Creek Quadruple Saturday. The EE are wayyyy over-rated now IMO; possibly because it's nice to see such a losing team that had next to no fan support improve and win.
Their D is average and has been both passed and run on by CFL teams this year. Argos bring some ground game early and that will set-up Kelly for intermediate and deep shots.
Also - both QBs are very run capable for yardage and key first downs, so which ever one of them (or their OCs) grasp that best, may lead to a win.
Argos D needs a couple of turn-overs.
Kicking game could be a concern - Blanchard has been outstanding this year, but L-H is capable of a big game.

Genuinely don't know what to make of them this year. They were a fun story out the gate actually winning some games and getting to 6-1, but that was beating Ottawa twice and BC in a mess without Rourke, and a good chunk of luck and playing teams at the right time, so I was right there with the over-rated tag.
Then, as expected the couple of losses as they regressed to the mean, and when the Argos rolled in and they were 6-3 and I was going to enjoy watching them get knocked off the top of the West as the next part of their spectacular fall.
But the Argos just didn't show up and were soundly beaten, and since then, Edmonton hasn't looked back, rolling to 10-3 and are starting to look like their record, so I'm now questioning whether they have played themselves into being a good team (or whether the Stamps are just really bad).
So I'm at a complete loss as to how good they actually are... I think Saturday will go a long way towards giving me an answer.

Would love to see the Argos put in a complete game, all 3 phases firing, for 60 minutes. Due to schedule, injuries, etc all season Argos have had to cobble together a respectable 7-6 record.
Well 2 home games in a row on full week of rest it would look great to watch them take Edmonton to the woodshed for some payback. They have not blown out an opponent yet in 2026. It's time.

No one is giving the Argos a chance in this game and so I think it's the perfect time for an upset.
