Montreal remains unbeaten at home, and will be a very tough out in East Final. Kelly and the Argos can do it though. This season in particular the Argos have learnt through adversity, and are a tough out themselves. They kept Rourke and BC to all field goals and a Kelly led team probably puts up a couple of more TDs and wins that game comfortably.
Get everyone as healthy as possible. Get your QBs work, figure out running game and short yardage.
I am amazed at defence. Missing Judge, McFadden, they played good enough to win against one of the best offenses. Get healthy, and they will be able to create alot of looks to mess up Alexander, Rourke, Harris, Adams, Collaros, Fajardo.

If I were a betting man, I would bet on Collaros not being someone they need to scheme for. Wpg looks almost hopeless on offence. They ran 28 plays from scrimmage last night. That's almost exactly half of the league average this year. In the early 1990s, that was about a quarter and a half's worth of work for Dunigan and co.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2026 10:34 amGet healthy, and they will be able to create alot of looks to mess up Alexander, Rourke, Harris, Adams, Collaros, Fajardo.

I was really hoping they'd get a TD at the end just to see if they would go for 2 (I would have), but that's the way she rolls.
Despite the loss, it was an entertaining game. Both teams played at a high level.
Also, Vallesi is STILL a crappy ref.

I agree, Paul. Winnipeg is a Jekyll and Hyde team but I think they may be the one to miss the playoffs out there. The Riders are in some danger now too. I wouldn't be shocked if we finally see the Riders visit Toronto in a few weeks.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2026 10:51 amIf I were a betting man, I would bet on Collaros not being someone they need to scheme for. Another entertaining game at BMO. Meant nothing to the Argos, meant everything to BC (they will get 2nd place in West)
And as pointed out here, Argos still put up a good battle. Special team coverages were very good, Defence was mostly solid.
Still no running game though, which in playoffs can often make the win-lose difference.
Did everyone enjoy the Buffalo Bills stuff during the game?? Ya, me neither.
Here are your West Division predictions : Winnipeg misses playoffs, Sask. is the cross-over vs Argos, BC beats Stamps (3rd place team) in West Semi AND BC beats Elks in Edmonton in West Final.
Expect to see lots of green at BMO on Oct 31st. And of course many crazy-scary costumes in the stands. Should be fun.

To me the most important stat in this game was that Rourke was 15 of 32 in passing. I am too lazy to look up the last time he had a completion rate of 50% or less, but it is pretty rare. He usually averages around 70%.
Some of this may have been pressure from the Argos, but he has faced other defences just as good and played a lot better. Much of his poor completion rate was dropped passes, miscommunication with his receivers, and there were some poor passes.
If the Argos face BC in the playoffs at some point, I can only hope that they get this type of performance again from him.

I was thinking the exact same thing, score the late TD and go for two points and the win.
Hamilton’s own Tom Vallesi really is brutal.

I wonder if there was a problem with the stats in that game. When I looked at the stats at the half, Brown was 11-16. Yet that was also his final completions to attempts. I think something funky went down with the stats and the CFL site only has their first half stats up.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2026 10:51 amIf I were a betting man, I would bet on Collaros not being someone they need to scheme for. Wow, that is both crazy and plausible. I will look into this further.AngeloV wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2026 9:55 pmI wonder if there was a problem with the stats in that game. Putting 1 second back on the clock at the end of the half giving BC the field goal turned out to be an important play.
