Hervey over spending on FAs is bound to work this time.

hope everyone saw the Elks-Riders game this week, July 23, awesome entertainment
Two quality teams going for it.
Best CFL game so far in 2026, IMO, and I have seen every single one so far.

well the Riders-Elks rematch was pretty good, nice+close right to the end, as we like them, but a notch below first meeting.
Riders are for real, not the defending GC champs for nothing, & winning in Edm is never easy, so hats off to the Riders and to Trevor H.
Also the Riders have have an awesome HC. Much cooler head there.

It was great to see a lot of fans back at Commonwealth !

Different game for sure compared to the game before's shoot-out.

Nice to see the EE back to some winning ways (hate to see any CFL team lose just about every game - like Ottawa this year). However, the Elks' may have been listening to the hype (TSN garbage) about how great they are this season and let it get to their heads. They were facing a Rider team without a star receiver (Emilus), starting RB, and a top D player (Milligan), plus another top D player in corner Campbell was knocked out of the game. This should have been a formula for a beat-down on a team they are fighting for first with, at home, but nope; and the Riders are still a good team of course. Rankin has been reduced to a shadow of his former self the past few games after the hot start where TSN types were saying how great he is; McSystemic there runs a predictable offence IMO - not at all surprised to see him abandon the run, and Sherritt's defence may have improved some but is still not that good IMO, with an average pass rush and secondary that gets burned often.

Won't be surprised to see the Stamps get in the mix for first or 2nd in the West and maybe even BC too if Rourke returns and gets back to top form. I'll bet on the Bombers ending in the basement. But still an interesting West, with maybe some swings of momentum (and likely produces a cross-over to the East semi?)

Tip of the hat to the Elks for earning their first home playoff game in years and years.

As a fan, a drought that long can really kill attendance and interest. Remember well the Argos back-to-back 4-and-14 years.
And our consistently weak teams 1974 to 78.
Kudos to Elks mgmt. for this turnaround.

Funny thing is, we would kill to have the attendance we had during and after 74-78.
