2024 Transactions

Re: 2024 Transactions
Depth chart is out. Not 1 change from what I can see from last week’s depth chart. Makes sense as the injury report (not including guys on the IL) was very light this week.

Re: 2024 Transactions
I know there was initial concern about Eiben/Fields being co-coordinators but the defence has been getting better every week and I like the direction in which they're headed.OV Argo wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 11:19 amAngeloV wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 12:11 amNot really. He was relegated to the practice roster twice this year.IssuesMcgee wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 8:52 pm
It's odd someone like Pierce gets cut this late in the season...
McFadden was cut and brought back as an instant starter. The twin DCs might be a bit confused figuring out secondary talent and schemes.
From what I understand, they seemed to want faster DBs and, for whatever the reason, McFadden didn't fit what they were looking for. Give them credit for seeing the error of their ways and bringing him back. I think that they may have the players in the secondary that they're happy with now.
Re: 2024 Transactions
A couple of guys cut by the useless Ticats doesn't really inspire me, but maybe they're happy. And again, great signing of Adeleke for good ole "Canadian depth".ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 2:07 pmI know there was initial concern about Eiben/Fields being co-coordinators but the defence has been getting better every week and I like the direction in which they're headed.

What do you really think Adeleke is at this stage of his career coming off injury? He lost his spot in Hamilton already, you really expect him to start somewhere? Every time he played anywhere in the secondary othet than safety, he wasn’t very good. Of course you won’t believe that, but it’s true.

Re: 2024 Transactions
I feel like Adeleke was never really the same after KGJ figuratively broke his ankles back in 2021 or 2022 at BMO.

Stick to your own version of "true"; hilarious that some on these football forums can't grasp the difference between 'truth" and opinion.
Adeleke is a veteran proven D play-maker in this league; he's played S-OLB (at first some with the Stamps), mostly safety but also all other secondary positions. Maybe he's old, washed-up and injury damaged. I'll take a versatile, smart, fast veteran who knows the Canadian game over weak, inexperienced, still learning the game, rookie Americans (unless it's a Stiggers level athlete/talent) 7 days of the week. GOBs think differently though. The number of rookie or mediocre or lost American DBs ( most of the RedBlacks & Elks secondary or Marcus Sayles types and about 15 other currents I could name) who get recycled and chance after chance in this league is telling. Same old CFL $hite though.

Re: 2024 Transactions
There have been some difficult to understand moves in the secondary this year but it does appear, based on the last game, the secondary is settling in to place. Realizing it was only one game but Milton impressed last game.
Re: 2024 Transactions
Just saw on CFL Transactions, Ryan Hunter has been suspended. Wonder what happened?
