The secondary was always a concern since losing Peters and Stiggers. Losing Mace and having co-coordinators also raised some concern. Lack of veteran QB behind Kelly were all brought up in the offseason. Losing Ciraco wasn't expected. So is it a surprise this team isn't doing as well as we thought? Is not enough credit given to Montreal and Ottawa or strengthen their teams. Maybe looking at the situation now without an Argo bias, should we really be surprised with what we are seeing on the field?
I don't think we were naive to expect a 10-8 or 11-7 season, which is still theoretically possible, but difficult at this point.
Will, the team is on a 2 game losing streak....really?
The season starts labour day so we're last place at 0-2.

One thing that the 2024 Argos haven't created for themselves is an identity, especially due to the Kelly suspension and all of the changes from last season. Montreal and Ottawa have remained largely intact from last season and familiarity is a huge benefit in football, which is a large reason for their success this season, IMO. Many of us made fun of the Elks earlier this season but they stuck with their identity as a running team with an active defense and now things are starting to pay off for them. The Argos are more than capable to round into form but need to stick with what they are good at., that is their running game, offensive line play, special teams and a strong D-line.

The Elks new identity as run game team came with the dismissal of that clown Jones and a new HC in place; we shall see if they stick with it and try to ride with it.

"We are what our record says we are" - Bill Parcells

It is what it is until it becomes something else. It will be up to the players and coaches to define this team's destiny.

There is no reason to doubt that Kelly can't bounce back to his 2023 form, given more playing time. The OL and DL must improve. When McManis and Brinkman return the D should start to improve. Hunter's return should help the OL big time. Personally, I;d like to see Giffen at RG.
We have to remember Montreal came on strong in the latter part of last season. If the Argos can solve the OL and DL issues, there is a chance they could also do just as well in the last part of the season,

Well there is some positive thinking!!!!!!!
Montreal was 6-7 last year before going on a run to the Grey Cup. There is still a lot of talent on this Argos' team and a long enough way to go in this season.

Perhaps we have to accept this team is not even close to consistently good, yet, this season. Plain as day.

Let’s see how things play out the rest of the way, this team is more than capable of going on a run but now they have to prove it.
