Nice, He had great skills, but dropped a lot of balls. He loved to play football. Played semi pro long after he was done in the CFL.
Edwards definitely struggled catching the ball early in his career. He was a useful role player for the Argos by the end of his career though (1986-88).
Edwards was a speed, deep threat guy, and never targeted lots.
Tim White's catch to target ratio this year was horrid - he gets tons of passes thrown his way, but this year really struggled with board hands.

I liked Edwards but he had serious drop issues early in his career. I remember reading an article - probably in the Globe and Mail back then - about how the Argos were getting his eyes checked because of all the drops he had.
Bo has league leading numbers but was benched and only got a second chance because his replacement got injured. That is not an award winner IMO, nor an MOP. Bo struggled a lot early and couldn't lead his team to the playoffs. But the stats say he's good!

In 1982, Comdredge Holloway the incumbent starter for the Argos lost the job to Joe Barnes. Barnes got injured in game 2 and the rest is history. I don’t believe circumstances like that should sway the voters. It’s the overall body of work.
Bo was far and away the most dominant offensive player in the league this year. Had Adams stayed healthy, and Rourke not been handed the B.C. job, he might have surpassed Bo as the league's best QB. But IMO it is entirely appropriate to give an MOP nod to a QB who is so far ahead of all his competitors. It's not Bo's fault that the Ticats had a terrible defence and terrible coaching for much of the season. These are individual awards, not team awards. The idea that you can't win MOP if your team doesn't make the playoffs runs counter to that.

Did people on here (or it predecessor) take umbrage in 2014 when Ricky Ray won East MOP for an Argos team that missed the playoffs?
I did not. Ray never won MOP during his career. Bo should definitely be considered. Throwing for 5,400 yards is a career milestone. He has thrown over 5,000 yards 2 other times on better teams and won the award. Doing it after you are benched and called out by your coach speaks to his mental toughness. I thought his career was over last year. He can still play. Hamiltons problems were not at the QB position. They should think long and hard about moving on from BLM.
