I get what he's saying. He probably didn't use the right words, but pretty sure he meant it's a team first mentality and not catered to superstars.

Mr. Ed has a big-mouth and is not good for the league IMO - no need to say that as it comes across as dismissive to league players. NFL fan-boys and media wannabes up here will gladly agree there are no "superstars" in the CFL without big money and "major league" hype $ucking.

However, if he was basically referring to Gino Lewis' claim that he is a superstar - i"ll agree 100%. Now Terry Greer, Fernandez, Tony Gabriel, Brian Kelly, Ben Cahoon - those were CFL superstar receivers; Lewis is not in the same area code, but i guess a legend in his own mind.

The Elks will be a trendy pick for significant improvement this season, and it may well happen, but as we know, winning free agency doesn't equal a Grey Cup championship.

EE look to be starting a lot of key guys in their 2nd ex. game, including a bunch of prize free agents (a number of ex-Argos among them).

Will be very interesting, IMO, to see the new regime look EE. Could be starting up to 11 or 12 Canadians (Ford at QB, maybe 3 receivers, maybe 4 O-line (ex-Argo MacKellar listed as a starter for this ex. game) = possibly 8 on offence. And then some key, proven FAs on D: Robbie Smith, Metchie and Ty Ford (plus have Canadian talent like Curtis & Kongbo to rotate in on the D-line). This would be at the other end of the scale sort of from what the 7 only need apply thinking teams will do (I'll bet we see a bunch of that this season).

Hope the EE can rebound to be a strong team again and win some fans back - good for the league. IF new HC Kilam shows some smarts, I believe they can challenge for first in the West, where a bunch of teams have question marks IMO.

EE first game depth chart is out with 11 Canadian starters listed (Ford at QB, 3 receivers, 4 O-line; Metchie, Robbie Smith & Ty Ford on D; last year's starting D_lineman Noah Curtis out with injury, but they have vet Canadian Kongbo able to play reps on the D-line).

Ex-Argos Ceresna & Brinkman starting at DT, and another ex-Argo in Barlow starting at DE - so an all-former Argo starting D-Line.

BC vs. Elks should be a very interesting match--up of 2 teams mostly re-built with rookie HCs.

EE listing 11 Canadian starters for tonight's game against the Als (and true starters, not the phony CFL roster games B$ with a Canadian listed as starter and then replaced after the 1st snap by an American)

Recipe for disaster for the EE and their rookie HC; WTF are they thinking ? - GOBs will be laughing or shaking their heads in disgust.

If they bench stiffs like the Ford bros., K. Gittens, Robbie Smith & Metchie and replace them with more suitable Americans they could get down to 6 or 7 only NI starters, and then likely go on a winning streak roll. Bring back Chris Jones !!!

Well, it is early, but Robbie Smith and Royce Metchie and Terrell Ford have had no impact at all thus far on an overall terrible Elks D. Gittens and Tre Ford killed it in garbage time last night, so there is that.
