The Redblacks scooped up William Stanback fairly quickly after his release by BC. A good move by Ottawa because their lack of running game may have been one of their undoings in the playoffs.

Umm, gotta disagree there - the switch in the East semi, vs. the Argos, to a mostly spread offence / 6 pack / no real run game, netted almost 500 passing yards and a doubling of time of possession, vs. the Argo D that went on to win the GC. That was arguably the RedBlacks best offensive game of the season.

I thought Dyce & Condell might have wanted to continue / explore that style of offence more; but maybe not, and also good to have a quality RB at your disposal (and D. Williams, who missed all of last season with injury there, after impressing plenty the season before, could return as well ?)

BC preferring that ultra mediocre Butler over the far superior Stanback is a bit head scratching; but maybe a money thing; or maybe Rourke put in a word for Butler as he was his main RB in his big CFL season there.

Brown attempted 61 passes in the ESF, (without a meaningful TD in the 2nd half) so it reasons that he would put up those stats. Ottawa needed a RB in the event Williams isn't able to return from his injury. Getting Stanback is a good move.

The GOBs really value "depth" at RB plus good special teamer Canadians; Adeboboye will be lucky to get 10 carries on the season in that offence.

Such $pectacular CFL pay-days for 3 Down to report on to get CFL fans' panties in a knot about. Wow - one RB makes a whole 10 grand or so more than some others - just incredible.
