In the late ‘70s I was the starting QB for the San Diego Chargers.

I don't think Varga was ever going to get playing time with the LBs the Argos already had on the roster. Regarding Adebeboye, another player due for a well deserved raise who wasn't going to get it. Ideally when you trade a player, you want to get something in return. Andre Carter, the promising DL who wouldn't sign with Ottawa, has basically made the same decision with the Argos.OV Argo wrote: ↑Sun Aug 03, 2025 12:19 amMakes a fine scapegoat though; Varga had 73 D tackles in less than full playing time on the BC D last season but hasn't played a lick on a lacking Argo D this season; he has 9 ST tackles for the Argos so far this season and had 13 as a rookie with BC.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 8:35 pmVarga has certainly been a disappointment so far this season. Regardless if Allen is hurt or not, is he not worth a lot more than a backup LB who isn't very good on STs?
What happened to that Adebobye guy who was a very good ST tackler for the Argos? - is that the same guy who is top 10 in the league in rushing so far this season with the best RB yds/ carry average in the league by far?

”scapegoat”. dont try your anti canadian bs on a team that went out to get and start cam judge, they are absolutely willing to play a canadian linebacker if they deserve to be on the field. the allen for varga trade is the worst trade i can remember in the last decade, easilyOV Argo wrote: ↑Sun Aug 03, 2025 12:19 amMakes a fine scapegoat though; Varga had 73 D tackles in less than full playing time on the BC D last season but hasn't played a lick on a lacking Argo D this season; he has 9 ST tackles for the Argos so far this season and had 13 as a rookie with BC.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 8:35 pmVarga has certainly been a disappointment so far this season. The Andre Carter situation is baffling. He was initially suspended at the start of camp, then he showed up for the two preseason games and then was suspended again. I assume that he is still on the suspended list. Maybe he's dealing with a personal situation and will show at some point.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Sun Aug 03, 2025 6:44 amI don't think Varga was ever going to get playing time with the LBs the Argos already had on the roster. Ravi, he’s still showing on the suspended list (as of yesterday).ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Sun Aug 03, 2025 12:38 pmThe Andre Carter situation is baffling. Initially I was a little disappointed with the Orimolade-Judge trade but I think this is one of those deals that has benefited both teams.Ryan52 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 03, 2025 11:55 am”scapegoat”. dont try your anti canadian bs on a team that went out to get and start cam judge, they are absolutely willing to play a canadian linebacker if they deserve to be on the field. the allen for varga trade is the worst trade i can remember in the last decade, easilyOV Argo wrote: ↑Sun Aug 03, 2025 12:19 amMakes a fine scapegoat though; Varga had 73 D tackles in less than full playing time on the BC D last season but hasn't played a lick on a lacking Argo D this season; he has 9 ST tackles for the Argos so far this season and had 13 as a rookie with BC.

Judge has been fantastic with the added benefit of being a quality Canadian starter.

I like Darkangelo as a high motor, solid. LB, but sorry (just IMO) Varga just showed more LB talent in playing time on the BC D last season.Ryan52 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 03, 2025 11:55 am”scapegoat”. dont try your anti canadian bs on a team that went out to get and start cam judge, they are absolutely willing to play a canadian linebacker if they deserve to be on the field. the allen for varga trade is the worst trade i can remember in the last decade, easilyOV Argo wrote: ↑Sun Aug 03, 2025 12:19 amMakes a fine scapegoat though; Varga had 73 D tackles in less than full playing time on the BC D last season but hasn't played a lick on a lacking Argo D this season; he has 9 ST tackles for the Argos so far this season and had 13 as a rookie with BC.

Spare me your b$, sonny; and I already questioned - here, before - the value of trading a good starting OT in Allen for Varga; but oh boy, the Argos play Canadian Judge on their defence - WOW - that must so impress you.

And here I was led to believe it’s only me and my “clique” that had heard enough of that same crap over and over again. For the record, the Argos started 9 Canadians each of the last 2 games
As for the hypothetical who to sit if Polk comes back, there is no way you sit Daniels. He’s considered a leader amongst the offensive players on the team and is always assignment sound. Stuff like that helps get the other receivers open.
