I wish I could be as optimistic as you are! There are just too many obstacles to overcome unfortunately. More than likely, our record would been better if Kelly had been able to play. I feel like the fanbase has been jerked around a bit regarding his return to the lineup.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 12:21 pmThe Argos can keep themselves in the playoff hunt simply by winning this Saturday's game. WEST
1. SASKATCHEWAN; 12-6
2. BC; 10-8
3. WINNIPEG; 9-9
4. EDMONTON; 8-10
5. CALGARY; 8-10
EAST
1. HAMILTON; 11-7
2. MONTREAL; 11-7
3. TORONTO; 8-10
4. OTTAWA; 4-14
Toronto, of course, needs to win out. But can still do this if healthy. Getting Kelly, Coxie, Daniels back would be helpful. But Hamiton, Calgary snd Saskatchewan can all be had IMO. None of them are better than Toronto to any large degree.
Assumptions;
Calgary loses out
Edmonton goes 2-1
BC goes 2-1
Winnipeg goes 1-2
Ottawa loses out
Saskatchewan goes 2-2
Montreal goes 3-0
Hamilton goes 2-1

If our defense can't put pressure on Bo Levi Mitchell and he can just stay in the pocket, he will shred the secondary. Just like last time at BMO. Get BLM out of the pocket, and out of his comfort zone, and he is a lot less effective.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 1:46 pm True, except I was hoping for a healthy Arbuckle and/or available Chad Kelly for this next game, as well as, returning players like Coxie, Daniels, etc over the remaining 2 games after that. Without those players healthy I'm not sure they can score the necessary points to win games.
You're right.... overall, the D did play well in a hostile environment, but IMO, the major reason that Mitchell and Lawlor had everything go well for them in Toronto was that we did not get enough pressure from our line. As someone else posted, Argos play a lot of zone coverages, which to be successful require some pressure on the QB. It is very difficult to maintain coverages if Mitchell can just stand back there and wait.
Re: Projected Final Standings and Playoff Seeding
The Argos also played that game at BMO on five days of rest only while the Ticats had a full week of preparation. The Argos, as has been the case all season, were beaten up while the Ticats were not.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 2:40 pmYou mention the last time they played at BMO, but the Argos D played well in a hostile environment on Labour Day. I would suggest that the Labour Day game was a far more accurate representation of where these two teams are at, relative to one another, than the game at BMO was.
Re: Projected Final Standings and Playoff Seeding
If Kelly had been able to play this season, there's no doubt in my mind that the Argos would be 8-7 at the very least. As we have seen with the Alouettes also, having your starting QB makes all the difference.TICATS SUCK ! wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 4:33 pmI wish I could be as optimistic as you are! Re: Projected Final Standings and Playoff Seeding
I think their record at a minimum would be reversed. 10-5
The 1-5 start was a killer and it was mostly due to bad timing turnovers.
