Well, the TiCats just signed one of the two, and it wasn't Oakman...

I don't think there was ever a question of Oakman's ability but perhaps there was a question of his consistency. Interesting to note he still hasn't been signed by another team. He will likely be signed sooner or later, as he is just too good a player to remain unsigned for the whole season.

Edmonton would have seemed to be a good fit, seeing how Ceresna is here now. And they are playing here Saturday night. But Chris Jones seems to have gone from being a good football mind to a questionable one now. His handling of Tre Ford is just another prime example. To not have any play packages for him in the first 2 games is crazy. I actually believe he doesn't play him because he is Canadian. Tre gave Jones the only wins he had last year and he is squandering what could be the revitalization of that storied franchise. The Argos should be doing what they can to lure him here. Perhaps while he is in town this weekend.

Sounds like you want the team to move on from Kelly and perhaps toss Dukes aside. There are about to be major changes in Edmonton. Who ever replaces Jones in a couple weeks is not going to allow Ford to languish on the bench.

Especially with the sale of the team on the horizon. The new owners are going to want someone marketable.

No, I expect Kelly to play the back 9 games and play well. But if the Argos are ready to move on and don't feel Kelly can be the face of the team, there are not that many QBs that could come in and replace him with the same amount of upside. Ford is one of those with lots of potential and you can market around. Nathan Rourke is another but as soon as he gets real playing time we will never see him play in Canada again.
Dukes exceeded my expectations in game one, and he showed mental toughness not to let that 2nd quarter defeat him. But it was one game, and I need to see more from him. Kelly and Ford have better arms to go vertical on teams and keep defenses honest. I am not yet ready to anoint him as a number one QB. I would feel better with Kelly or Ford still.

There is no indication that the Argos intend to move on from Kelly but who knows.
I don’t see Rourke getting much if any playing time in the NFL.

If the NFL braintrusts still don't play him then he will come back here and be the face of the league. I expect him to be the best player in preseason once again. The Giants have a weak QB room, that was why I expect him to see the field this year.

The Giants have a starting QB who they are paying $40M a season, barring injury they will ride with him.

Of course they will, but Nathan should compete well for the back up job. And if there is an injury, I think he could take over the starting job. And as a backup his salary will be ridiculous anyhow.
