Re: Hogan: Who Should Become the Next All-time Argo?

Some clarification...
The Argonauts organization acts in a support role for the list of All-Time Argos. Members of the Toronto Argonauts Alumni Association vote for inductees. It is for players only, and based solely upon their on-field accomplishments as an Argo. It is fully a TAAA initiative.
I agree that non-players had been omitted for too long. I brought up the idea of a builders wall with Bill Manning last year and he was thrilled by the concept and enthusiastically supported it fully. We wanted to make the initial group very select. I brought a list of 30 or so names to Bill and we quickly agreed that from a managerial standpoint Lew Hayman and Bob O'Billovich should be in the initial group, and for his multiple contributions to the Argos, Pete Martin should be recognized as well.
Bill and I then met with the TAAA executive and ran the idea and the proposed members by them. While it was our decision, we wanted their blessing as the relationship between team and alumni is getting stronger each season.
Leo Cahill will absolutely be discussed for the next round of inductions.
As for a permanent site, we have one selected - the wall next to and above the door to the Argos locker room. As you may know, there is construction in the north end of the stadium in preparation for World Cup. It was prudent to let that proceed before we go ahead with the wall. The artwork has been completed and I'm happy to say that Pete saw the design, with the first three names included, before he passed away.
It's impressive work and I can't wait to unveil it.
I hope that helps clear up any questions you may have.
And thanks for discussing the list I put together, I come to this site hoping for insightful conversation and was really hoping the topic would generate passionate discussion.
