RD on Overdrive yesterday did not shed much more light on Chad's status. Other than we won't see him for the next 6 games. Is it Chad who is hesitant? Or is it Dinwiddie? Second opinions? More questions than answers. If he doesn't wsnt any more Chad questions he didnt do himself any favors. At least they will have $200K to "spend" on either returning players from NFL or others.
I think it's Dinwiddie and the team wanting to look out for his long term health and future contributions to the Argonauts rather than rush him back only to set him back further. It doesn't sound like Kelly is 100% yet and maybe won't be this season.

I'm having a hard time being optimistic that he'll be back soon, and this is all just a ploy to stop having to address his status. They said before the season that he might return for week 1. They said early in the season that he was getting close to returning. Then he started going to Buffalo to work with his own person there, and Dinwiddie said (last week) that it might be either day to day or week to week. Then he goes on the six immediately before a game, presumably in order to get "credit" for that game being applied against salary savings. I'm not a betting person, but if I was, I'd bet against him coming off the six-game early. And I might bet against him playing at all this year. There's just too much weirdness around this for it to be as simple as "we need to stop talking about this, so let's six-game him."
At this point I’ll believe it when I see it in regards to Kelly’s return to the lineup.
I am not surprised by this. Kelly's injury was extremely serious, and I never thought that his return would be quick. It is one thing to heal enough to resume "normal" activities, it's quite something different to be able to compete in a violent game like pro football. The team, and Chad himself, have to be absolutely confident in his being fully recovered, otherwise it makes no sense to bring him back.
Nick Arbuckle is playing well overall, and is not the reason the team is 2 - 5. The team has played much better the last two games, even though they lost the heartbreaker in Montreal. So, stay the course and keep trying to gut out some more wins. Leave Kelly be.

I agree with your reasoning, but if Kelly shows more improvement by season’s end, what a positive jolt it would give the team if he could return for the season finale and then the playoffs.
