Winnipeg Franchise QB Zac Collaros has been ruled out Friday night.
Likely run focused game with Oliveira and Streveler. Not sure why the Bombers went away from that in the second half last Saturday. It was working very well for them in the first quarter. Sort of like last years Grey Cup. They have the best running back in the league and they stop using him right when they need him the most. Head scratcher.
Wynton McManus might be the reason.
Maybe; more like, IMO, same old CFL offensive thinking abandon the run game at the slightest sign of it not working every play is the real culprit though; i guess you could call that a "head scratcher" but i gots some other terms.
The Argos could try to load the box with 3 true LBs and hope to take away Oliveira & Strevler's run ability and make a not very good passer try to beat them with an air attack; we shall see.

You can have a great RB but at some point you will get stopped on first down with a small gain. If you aren’t converting 2nd and long, doesn’t matter, you will not score much. You can’t just keep running if that is the case.

So what would you do at S? Bring ether Hood or Marten off the PR at start them there? Move Blackburn from SAM to S and put Marten or Hood at SAM? Slywka finished the game Saturday so I figured he'd be ready for Friday with some rest, guess not.

My understanding is that Blackburn and Eduard both took reps at S yesterday. This implies Blackburn will likely start there and Martin will be back in the line-up a cover LB. I personally would like to see Eduard get a start. Guessing Herdman-Reed replaces Ojo on the roster to add ST depth.

It's easy for me to say this now but I would have done what they've done: Blackburn at S and Martin at SAM.

I'd move Judge (an athletic LB who can cover) to S-OLB and then have either of Darkangelo or Varga play W-OLB with McManis in the middle, and then have 3 true bigger LBs on the field to take away the Bombers run game. Could also fire 2 of those LBs to blitz on obvious passing downs. And the added CFL D experience in doing that could be very telling. Strevler at QB should only be defeating a dumb or inexperienced CFL defence.

Judge is good, but he can’t cover a SB on a regular basis. They already play a lot of snaps with all 3 LB’s + the cover LB in there. They just take out a DT

Judge at S-OLB would not have to have prime responsibility to cover a super fast or prime target slotback in man to man; he is easily quick and smart enough to play zone and / or man against a not super-fast slotback (quite a few of those in the CFL). A rookie S-OLB with slightly better, perhaps, pure cover skills but little clue about CFL offences in general is not going to do much against a Strevler offence in particular; a 4-3 with 3 true (and smart & Canadian ball experienced) LBs who can also blitz lots would be way more effective IMO; but then again, I'm not a pro football coach, but just a couch potato fan = we should all just defer to whatever the coaches do as inscrutable wisdom.

I don’t think you understand what that position is. Was Blackburn not man to man on Demski resulting in a 40 yard completion last week? The more you talk the more I realize it’s useless to try and debate with you because your knowledge of the game is 50 years behind.
