I haven't been able to post anything coherent on this topic because I am choking on my own rage at the mere thought of this.
This would be the worst idea ever.

Rage against the machine my friend. Like most here I cannot comprehend a reason the Argos would move on from Kelly. But I also did not think they'd be looking for a new head coach either.IssuesMcgee wrote: ↑Fri Nov 28, 2025 2:34 pm I haven't been able to post anything coherent on this topic because I am choking on my own rage at the mere thought of this.

At this point it's just speculation from Arash Madani. For all we know, he completely made this scenario up.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Fri Nov 28, 2025 3:40 pmRage against the machine my friend. This is the key point.... it is just speculation, not based on anything. For Arash Madani, it generates comments on his podcast or whatever to increase his listenership.IssuesMcgee wrote: ↑Sat Nov 29, 2025 10:39 amAt this point it's just speculation from Arash Madani. Even if the Argos would be considering this... what would be their fallback at QB? And without their HC, who has proven to be a winner. And with no one hired yet to replace him. None of this makes any sense. But.... it is the Argos we are talking about. So, who knows?

Keep Kelly, release Pelley.... Keep Kelly, release Pelley..... Keep Kelly, release Pelley.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 26, 2025 7:44 pm Almost nothing the org could do would surprise me these days. Trade Kelly, keep Kelly, release Kelly -- whatever happens, at least Keith is in charge!
Re: Chad Kelly in 2026
One of the biggest things that will attract a new head coach to Toronto is that they are solid at QB, including having an elite one in Kelly. You can't win in this league without that.

110% true!. So....the definition of insanity would be not paying the man, and adding another element of uncertainty to the year ahead. Unless $250,000 is something Rogers/MLSE is not interested in paying. Kelly is a proven commodity and Rogers drops that out of their pocket on a weekly basis without noticing.

Mike Miller has named Chad Kelly as the starting QB for 2026: https://3downnation.com/2025/12/04/mike ... ationship/

Re: Chad Kelly in 2026
I have to assume Arbuckle will be shopped around the league. I would love to have him remain here, but he has potential trade value after the season he just had. He almost certainly sees himself as a starter again, but starting jobs are scarce. Whether Argos could extract enough in return to justify trading such an asset is hard to predict. Maybe a swap with Edmonton: Arbuckle for Ford (on a reduced contract). Maybe Ottawa if Dinwiddie sours on Brown; maybe Wpg if Collaros retires.
Re: Chad Kelly in 2026
I can't see any CFL team eyeing Arbuckle as a pencilled-in starter, other than MAYBE Ottawa if RD thinks he is an upgrade over Dru Brown for the passing game RD likes to run. They could bring in Nick for TC and if he out performs Brown, then Brown and his big salary get cut.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 04, 2025 2:50 pm I have to assume Arbuckle will be shopped around the league. A number of teams might be interested in Arbuckle as a #2 guy, but doubt anybody is going to pay good QB buck$.
But Miller is going to want to get rid of an experienced #2 guy, or is it Arbuckle believes he is above that role now ?
