Murphy has been off the website a lot since the incident after the Eastern Final. As far as I know, he was not around the team at all in 2022, and when he returned in 2023, no announcement was made.
Murphy was on the website a couple of days ago now not listed as Ravi stated.
I won't shed tears if John Murphy is gone.
Murphy finally used up his 9 lives with the Argonauts, I have no issue with Barker returning.

Sounds to me as if someone above Pinball (looking at you, Pelley) has decided a better front-office structure was required.
I agree Pelley’s massive ego is all over the Hufnagel hire. Even if he doesn’t care that much about the Argos, Pelley’s damn well gonna put his imprint on them anyway. Can’t get the CFL’s best coach? Then go get the CFL’s best front office guy. The crazy thing is it might just be the right move at the right time for this team. I’m intrigued.

Pelley's ego is large, but in these last few moves I have been impressed with the level of his involvement with the team. He is assembling a team in Hufnagel, Barker, Clemons who are capable of running with the ball and making things happen now without the need for Pelley's involvement.
In Barker's interview with Rod Pedersen, he said that in his last go around with the team he was proud of the Magri's, Russel's , etc...and what they accomplished, and how they were able to wind up in NFL front offices. And this is what he wants to do again. Here's hoping Pelley is going to give him the resources to do just that.
Pelley clearly has passion for the team still. My larger concern was with his bosses at Rogers, and my feeling that the folks in Rogers have little care or need for the football team and that would trickle down and tie Pelley's hands even though the dollars to run the Argos are insignificant to them. It was just more of a loathing for the team, and wish to see them fail.
I want to be so wrong about that. And this week so far I'm feeling good about things since Dinwiddie left.

Who was allowing that do*k Murphy to hang around the Argos for so long?

On-field success from 2021 to 2024.

Murphy's track record of success with Toronto and other teams can't be argued. Just wondering how things evolved in Toronto, with the key losses of Magri, Russell, and others and not replacing those people - how much had to do with dollars available and his involvement. I have no idea. His actions at the East Final, and then during the Kelly situation, were not positive in any way on him and the organization but he continued on here, as a result of his success, and the belief in second chances that is a part of the culture Pinball has created.
But why now? Those things were in the rear view mirror for sure. What was the dynamic in play with him and Pelley and Clemons and Dinwiddie? Maybe Dinwiddie's abrupt departure with no consultation with Argo management was a massive eye opener on how things were operating?
