The thinness of the team's NAT depth is really becoming apparent. We are one injury away, at a few positions, from having to do some very complicated juggling. All that said, I'm betting Kongbo starts this week, with the newcomer Maissoneuve pressed into service as a backup.
The Hunter injury woes is worrisome, but if he's able to play, I would move either him or Shepley to RT and start Kolankowski at guard. Kemp has been horrible this year and on top of that has twice take dumb misconduct penalties after the play.
You would think that if Kemp has been so horrible, why wouldn't they try Rush Reimer there? Could he be any worse? Obviously, the coaching staff doesn't think that he is ready. The one good thing about having two bad American offensive tackles at this time of year is that NFL cuts are coming soon.

It's just too bad NFL teams now do all their cuts after the last pre-season games. They use to have do it in intervals.

IMO the days of any NFL cuts being useful during the same season are almost gone. Guys who are late cuts tend to wait for other NFL opportunities, and by October it's basically too late to integrate someone new. Also, good OTs seem to be as rare down south as they are up here, so the likelihood of getting one in the next few wks strikes me as extremely low. I think we are going with what we have now, unless we can swing a trade (unlikely) or Dejon Allen suddenly surfaces.

I looked at all potential Olinemen with CFL experience currently in NFL camps who could become available, the only one I saw was former Stampeder Julien Good Jones who is with Washington. The Argos have several OTs on the neg list who are rookies trying to make an NFL team, but they would need time to develop.

Both Dejon Allen and Trevon Tate are free agents. My preference would be bringing Allen in but Tate would be fine too, IMO.

BTW, left tackle Desmond Bland was unable to practise on Wednesday.

why not both? Mystery why nobody's coming in when need is there

Jim Barker said in the off-season that it was a mistake to trade Allen. I am surprised that he's still a free agent.

Of all the guys on this week's injury report, only Polk (six-game), Shand and Haggerty are listed as Out. Everyone else is listed as Available. That's great news altho no doubt many of them have injuries of one sort or another. IMO this is a must-win -- have to ensure Hamilton does not clinch the season series even before Labour Day, and have to win every home game from now on as well as one or two on the road to ensure second place.

It's Nut Up time for sure. 2026 was never going to be an easy year for the Argos. The fact their own fate is still in their hands is no small accomplishment. I hope they can grind out a victory Saturday and keep their season alive. It would be disappointing to see it start to slip away now, after what they have endured.

Abbott on 3 Down identifies Kemp as allowing the most pressures (39) and Bland is second with (29). Not sure how any team can win, when their two OTs are so weak. Changes must occur if the team is to have a chance of having a winning record.
