According to Dinwiddie, Kelly is doing all that is required. All the counselling, etc is all window dressing to appease the detractor's. All Kelly has to do is say the right things which isn't too hard. “Yeah, I acted inappropriately”. 9 games is a huge suspension and he served it. I can’t fathom any other reason he’s not reinstated despite the upcoming outcry’s.
And there will be an outcry. It's already started.
Seeing few fans who I have no idea if even Argos fans (does that matter? No but…) demand Kelly be 1) banned forever 2) cut. The outcry makes Kelly seem like he’s done some things such as Ben Rothlesburger or Ray Lewis, which I won’t mention specifically but you get the gist. No one still knows the actual full story to this and we will never know. I read it actually involved another player not AJO. Can these rumours be trusted? I doubt it.
I’ve heard all sorts of things. A RB being a major collaborator in the report and also coincidentally separating from his wife. Another QB having a sexual relationship with the trainer and hence the player Kelly was jealous about. While I have no proof and I guess then it’s all speculation, yet I’ve heard from multiple people. People love to tell secrets. I’ve even been DM’d. The trainer didn't deserve everything, however it’s seems she’s not completely innocent. Fraternizing with players will always be trouble and I’d imagine the main reason for the Argos wanting to part ways. With every piece of info that does come out, I’m actually impressed the Argos were so quiet. Pinball took all sorts of criticism for not saying anything, however not only was he protecting his players, but also the trainer too. There’s a reason the 87 page report is locked away tighter than the JFK files.

I have heard all the same things, and these have come from people close to the team. Kelly was an easy target because of his past. Go after him, and many will believe everything. And yes, the report that nobody of importance gets to see, doesn’t pass the smell test.

If that is true, it is definitely a blessing that the RB is gone and I guess it could be kind of awkward between the two quarterbacks once Kelly returns. It's a great example of why so many businesses (beyond sport) discourage romantic relationships between colleagues.

I know I'm late to this party but Angelo brings up a good point about Kelly's past.

Many people were quick to point out Kelly's past and suggest it is all the proof we need in determining he was a straight up predator to this woman. I can't emphasize enough how dangerous that attitude can be. With no proof whatsoever made public, that is exactly the kind of mob mentality that ruins lives for no reason.

Even though the media was doing him dirty in that scrum, I found it interesting Pinball said, almost in of defiance towards his interviewers, that the situation was "a dispute between two people."

It seems to me that the complexity and secrecy of this whole situation has to mean it is not a one-sided or cut and dry situation of good vs evil.

If Kelly did something terrible, we would know about it by now. There would be no reason to hide details of the report. Based on Chad's reputation, the league and the media made their decision before the report was finished.

I will add that his past issues that may have taken away his NFL career, had nothing to do with any type of abuse or harassment towards women. Still, people are treating him as if he is a violent abuser of women, because it’s 2024. What a crock.

And how many careers/lives potentially ruined over taking a woman’s side? Matt Araiza the punter, Shawn Oakman, Brian Banks. Not saying Kelly is 100% innocent but something doesn’t seem right with the trainer’s side at all. It’s 2024, not sure we can even question the women’s side of the story. But does sound like some cover up and Kelly was chosen as the fall guy.

Not a cover up from the organization but maybe more like a collaborated attack to get back at the team for wanting to not renew a trainer. I’ll sue you and bring up your star QB in the case and we have two players willing to speak about it. Whatever way you look at it, it doesn’t smell right.

To be clear, I am not saying every accusation like this is phoney. I would hope every one is taken seriously. This one to me just doesn’t pass the smell test. She does not seem like a weak woman. The fact that she claims this went on for nearly 2 years and waited until she was told her contract would not be renewed is the part that gets to me. And I don’t want to hear again that she kept it quiet for fear of losing her job. Again, this is 2024 and MLSE is a huge corporation with a huge HR department, who works to protect employees. If she felt wronged all this time, she would have gone to HR. She only felt wronged when told she was not renewed. Harassment had nothing to do with that.

I am not saying that either but isn’t uncommon for a wrong verdict. If this was the medieval ages, fans would be calling for Kelly’s head with just the initial report from Rick Westhead being enough evidence. Now, if this was 100% false would the organization be willing to take it as far as they could without reaching a settlement?

No argument here. I like to be clear because I have been accused of a few things elsewhere for the stance I have taken.
