Laval dominating but settling for too many field goals.

This is likely the best competition Elgersma has ever faced and he hasn't been able to do much so far. Let's see if he can turn it up in the 2nd half.

Elgersma just did not have a good game, but maybe not helped by a limited offensive game plan; he's a huge QB (6-6) with an obviously good strong arm, but his accuracy was off at times and he showed little mobility or escapeability and I don't know why Laval did not blitz him way more; Laurier depended too much on their star receiver (Jordan, who had a couple of bad drops) and did not use their ground game near enough IMO - biggest play was a long run by that shifty, speedy 2nd RB (but he also had a costly fumble).

And Laval had to depend on all FGs; not sure why they played such a conservative offence and didn't let Desjardins air it out with deep or intermediate throws to some good receiver talent (Cool in particular) they have?

Desjardins did complete his first 22 passes which is outstanding, and made a few clutch throws late; he also has above average QB mobility. IMO he is a better QB talent than Elgersma (though I have seen Laval & Desjardins more)

Best player on the field IMO was Laurier LB #45 (hyphenated last name); Laval has some real good D talent as well - like those 2 big DTs, and some good tackling players in their back 7.
