I'm getting the feeling the Argos should have asked for more in the trade.

They selected him in the 3rd round & got a 2nd round pick in return.

Argos did ok getting the second round pick, nothing you can do if the player has no intention of signing a contract.

At least they got something. Unlike another situation this off-season involving a highly touted NAT prospect.

The problem there is you are trading someone who is guaranteed to show up for another roll the dice.

Vilain only wanted to play in Ottawa so it severely limited what the Argos could do here.

Looks like Ottawa has a lot of pretenders in the locker room.

I knew Dinwiddie was still out of his mind when Jake Maier was chosen to start over Dru Brown.

Fajardo played well.

I am sure Dinwiddie will get things turned around there eventually but it may take some time. I know others will disagree but I still believe Dru Brown has a higher ceiling than Maier, who is a serviceable QB.

It’s very hard to win a Cup with just a serviceable starting QB. Dave Dickinson gave up on Maier for good reasons. It speaks to Dinwiddie’s highly inflated regard for his own coaching abilities that he picked Mayer to start.

That decision could possibly end up messing up the whole Redblacks season, and I think that would serve him just right. He made another of his trademark stupid coach’s challenges tonight, and he blew yet another 3rd and short by running the ball out of the shotgun, absolutely ridiculous.

I think he is one of the most overrated coaches in Argos history. He had a ton of great players who made him look good here. I think we are soooo much better off without him.

Another rain soaked game in Ottawa. Hard to really evaluate either team in those conditions. Max Duggan had a rough night, although he did save a TD with a great tackle, so the score could have been worse. Jake Maier won't be the starting QB in Otfawa for long. Was looking to see if Villian, the DE who did want to sign with the Argos would play well but he didn't even dress. I tapped out at half time so I will have to see highlights regarding Dinwiddie & the challenge situation.
