D. Daniels has had a good CFL career and is mostly a solid receiver, but is not much of a fast deep threat and has drops issues at times; I'd replace him with Polk as the much better deep threat and big play kind of receiver, especially if it becomes Kelly chucking the passes.
Maybe they can trade him for Julien-Grant. He never drops the ball.

Superstars Kenny Lawler & Gino Lewis drop way more passes than Daniels ever has, but they are still considered these great receivers by some CFL experts.

Kevin Mital - guy with the best catch to target ratio in the league - dropped a pass right in his hands last game; quick - cut him, as it must be a glaring example of Canadian talent being not good enough ... to you and your usual suspects anyways.
You need to get a clue. Every post you make gets stupider and stupider.

Adding another solid NAT starter on D could be a game changer for this season. Let’s hope.

Let’s hope he finally ends up with the Argonauts!

Even if Vilain signs here, and even if he ends up starting, I don't see any way this becomes a game-changer. D-line is not a major issue for the team, and we are currently starting nine NATs so ratio isn't an issue at all. If Vilain arrived (and was good enough to start) at the same time as an INT OT arrived and was good enough to start, that would help considerably. But Vilain isn't changing the course of this season on his own under any circumstances.

Every little bit helps but your assertion is correct, there is no magic solution out there for the Argos this season.
O-Line and special teams remain a huge concern, any improvement will have to come from within which is doubtful at this point but we’ll see.

Can he excel at ST coverage?

Anything you say Rich. I will just defer to you on your Power 5 scouting reports.

I'd guess with his NFL resume that Vilain might get a shot to play for the Argos and sooner than later, but who knows. Chatfield has been a nice find at DE but another difference maker in the rotation could help lots.

What also might help is finding a more powerful RB and getting a clue about an applied ground game to help relieve pressure on the O-line and a not very mobile, mistake prone, passing QB trying to run an all-pass offence. Very surprised that HC RD has gone away from that this season and does not seem to understand the consequences.

They have absolutely wanted to run the ball but haven't been able to because of the o-line. If you're constantly in 2nd and long after trying to run, you don't have much choice but to go away from it.
