Despite killing any chance of a ALS comeback at the very end, as a CFL fan I hate how Dinwiddie has NFLified the last minute of the game.
What has he done to NFLify it? All teams take a knee on first down if ahead inside 45 seconds. Is there something else?
Over the years, has any coach taken 3 straight knees with a minute left more than RD has? Like the NFL, the game is over before the clock hits zero. At least they’re not shaking hands with time left on the clock. As Issues says, RD can’t even time his knees correctly. The one time vs Edmonton I believe it didn’t even work.
Maybe I’m just not used to this winning culture under RD and I remember the dark days from 2005 and onwards.

Watching the games on TV there is a commercial for Bell with Scottie Barnes and Jack Armstrong who I think is past his best before date. He has fully embraced his clown act.
Raptors are a horrible team, Armstrong is a joke. The playoff games like drew over 1 million viewers each and the GC hopefully over 5 million.
Viewership for Raptors must be nearing lows not seen in many years.
Why are CFL players not used in national ad campaigns?
I have wondered the same. How many Canadians outside Toronto even know who Gradey Dick is, but yet he got national endorsement deals once he was drafted by the Raptors?

I can recall one time when he tried to do it with too much time left on the clock, but IMO that's just bad coaching, not NFLification. Yesterday he did it with 45 seconds left, which meant the final play had to be run somehow. Arbuckle took a knee sooner than he had to on first down; if he had stayed upright a few extra seconds, they could have taken a knee on third down and game over.

Not sure what the NFL connection is, but that last play was a backwards lateral, and thus if fumbled and kicked around = live ball that the Als could have returned for a TD = game over. Not a bright move when there was all of 3 seconds to kill; heaving a pass deep down the sideline and out of bounds does the same trick with zero chance of the Als getting their hands on the ball.
For the record, Adam Rita did exactly the same thing with Rocket Ismail in 1991, I think it was the game in Regina. There's an element of risk, no question. Firing a deep bomb would be safer but is also not entirely risk-free.

One major factor of course being that the Raptors have the entire Cdn market to themselves. Plus they appeal to a young, desirable demographic. Several Raptors have been in national ad campaigns in recent years.

Arbuckle has been in this league for five or six seasons. He's with an OC who knows what he can do, and he has good weapons around him. He's ready for this.
Agreed = a vet QB with a solid O-line and lots of weapons at receiver & RB to work with; plus HC RD calling the plays.
However, I hope they might be smart enough to design a couple of series or packages for Dukes - as a run threat QB to give the Bummers' D something to think about. If it comes to a mostly pass duel between Collaros & Arbuckle, not sure i like the potential outcome; and the Winnipeg D features at least 3 outstanding D-backfielders (Ford, Nichols & Holm) to deal with; but the Argos have the superior D-line by quite a bit IMO. Diversity on offence with plenty of ground game and I believe the Argos can win this one

They are also endorsing products of American companies. Not sure how much the marketing departments, even if situated in Canada, know about the CFL.

The only risk of firing a deep pass wayyyy out of bounds is if a Bomber defender blows thru and gets to the QB before he gets to chuck it; same risk with the play they tried but with the added threat of a lateral pass being botched - makes zero sense IMO.

I largely agree with the ideas and sentiments throughout the thread so I'll just add one extra impression that I came away with: Jason Maas is good.
He had us completely Scoobied in the first half. Here's hoping that Coach Mace passes Coach Din his notes this week and Mass doesn't do the same favor for Osh.
There's a sense of fate here for me and it is just weird, man. 2007 Bombers won the East final against the Argos but lost starting QB Kevin Glenn after he was tackled by LB Kevin Eiben who is now the Argos Co-DC. Glenn was not available for the Grey Cup to play against their hated rivals the Riders. They had to start their inexperienced backup QB Ryan Dinwiddie, who now coaches the Argos against the Bombers who will be coached by the guy who was the 07 Argos team captain for that game, Mike O'Shea.
