TBH I’m not too phased by this at all, Argos will bring in some good D talent to start afresh.
That's how teams win Grey Cups, drafting and recruiting. Hervey tried the same thing to a lesser extent in Hamilton last season. 7-11.

Recruiting and drafting are important, but I still prefer for the first or second year guys to be accompanied by some veterans. As things stand now, the Argos have twelve (12) defensive linemen under contract, of which only four (4) saw playing time in 2024.

Gee, they could have signed him when he was released last year, just like they did with McFadden.

I can't argue that Will. To see 3 starting D Lineman who the team either drafted, traded for or recruited gone in hours does sting. Every year roster turnover in the CFL continues. Players getting cut over paultry roster bonuses and 1 year contracts hurt the product on the field

I'm not terrible surprised with Mital likely to take a larger role this year.

I like Nield more than Sindani, but if he was agitating to start, there are three NATs ahead of him in the pecking order.

Mackellar to the EE now too ?

Don't get cutting Nield - was he owed a bonus soon or something ?

Not liking the overall tenor of this Argo off-season personnel goings on.

Fine to say the staff will find or draft new talent; quite possible, but I'd rather have that supplemented by retaining more key players and/or signing some a couple of quality known FAs .

I’m not panicked over what has transpired in the last 24 hours or so but it does raise some questions though.
The Argonauts have had a lot of success in the last 3 seasons and as an organization seem to treat their players very well.
Despite all of this you wonder how the player exodus comes to pass, is it strictly financial or is there something behind the scenes that the fans aren’t seeing?
Interesting that 3 starters on the D-Line for the reigning Grey Cup Champions all decide to leave the organization within hours of each other to join the same team (Edmonton) who have been a mitigated disaster the last couple of seasons and scored extremely poorly on the recent players organizational scorecard.
A real head scratcher TBH?
