Take what you want out of the game but moral victories don’t mean much at this point.
Argos need to string together some wins and fast.
If you are going to lose a game, then a "moral victory" as you call it, is better than a blow out, is it not? As a coach, you need something positive out of a loss to help inspire and motivate the team to not quit.

To your second point, stringing together some wins and fast is not realistic, especially this season when the competition between teams overall is much tougher. No game against any opponent is going to be easy. Look at Calgary... their only loss has been to Ottawa.

What we need is to keep competing. Try to limit mistakes and unforced errors that cost us points and ultimately games.
Sorry but a loss is a loss, if stringing wins together fast is “not realistic” then they won’t make the playoffs.
I would argue that leading the majority of the game then collapsing at the end and losing is more frustrating than a blowout.
You are right. A loss is a loss. One loss. The term "moral victory" was yours, not mine.

It should be frustrating that you lose because you collapsed at the end, but at least you were in the game right until the end.

What do you consider a string of wins? As long as Argos compete and have a chance at winning, they don't have to run the table (yet), but that point may come later on. The league has probably never been more competitive, so even a .500 record at the end of the year could be good enough, depending on how things play out.

To get to 9-9 they need to go 8-4 the rest of the way.
The sense of urgency begins right now, each loss digs the hole deeper.
Little to no margin for error at this point especially considering the possibility of a crossover so getting wins sooner rather than later alleviates the need to run the table later in the season.

To go 8-4 the rest of the way, there is virtually no way they can get swept by Wpg these next two wks. We are staring at a potential 1-7 start, altho if Collaros can't play we might catch a break.

I agree Paul, I can see the Argos splitting these 2 games with Winnipeg.
My point is the sense of urgency should be high at this point, each game lost adds pressure to win later this season which isn’t ideal to say the least.
Looking at the schedule the Argos have some difficult matchups coming up against the Bombers, Riders, Ticats and B.C.

Hey! - in Goddo we trust. ;)

Greg & band recently played an arts theatre here as part of a big anniversary tour.

Saw them play here in Goddowa so many times, at various venues, back in the late 70s and into the 80s. An awesome band.

To say football teams need to win games is to restate the obvious. To say the Argos didn’t play with urgency is I think wrong and unfair.

“The sense of urgency begins right now” I stand by that comment and yes indeed sitting at 1-5 they do in need to start winning games, sorry if you think this is wrong and unfair.
