That’s my guess.
That would alter the ratio, since Blackburn is playing there at the moment. With four NAT o-linemen, three NAT receivers and Judge, they'd still have eight starters, but it would slightly reduce flexibility. They were able to swap Herslow in and out freely last game, and occasionally had two INT RBs on the field.
That SAM position is so important that they need someone like Dozier in there. It would have been nice if they could have retained Priester or Adeleke for that position but those ships have sailed plus Adeleke has retired anyway.
Rather see Dozier's vet presence at D-half i think (Milton is weak IMO and not sure Bratton is much better; and Slwyka though a fine athlete does not get the position yet, so some vet direction could help); Blackburn will get better and S-OLB with more work and has play-making potential that is lacking overall on this D (outside of McManis & Judge or Chatfield at times.; Preister has been a real weak link in the always porous RedBlacks secondary Ravi - he can't cover well enough to play there,

I was at practice today and can confirm Dozier was lining up at SAM.
Also practicing today were both Ryan Hunter and Dylan Giffen. Though I doubt either will be available this week based on what I saw in terms of running with the first team, they should both be very close.
I would assume they use the same o-line this week mostly due to the short week of only 2 practices.
Of the new rb’s Spencer Brown seemed to be getting more reps than Peny Boone.
Chad Kelly was working with a coach on the sidelines. He’s allowed to start practicing with the team next week while not affecting his status on the 6 game. He was doing standard QB drills moving up and back in the pocket then throwing down field to one of the coaches, and the zip on his ball looks great. Then he ran some sprints. To my eyes (which admittedly means nothing) he looks absolutely ready to go.

How is that possible? He has missed only two of the six games so far. I thought practising could not begin until after four games have been played. That would mean after next week's game, not this week's. Unless they're thinking of removing him early (and forgoing the salary-cap credit).

He’s not taking part in team activities. Just working out on his own. Guessing it was a coach he was working out with, but not sure who it was. Regarding the cap savings, neither of us really believe it will be used anyway. So does it really matter?

Throwing on the sideline to a coach is undoubtedly permitted, but my question was about your second sentence, re the possibility of practising with the team next wk. Was that something someone there told you? Because I don't believe it's permissible -- if he is still on the six next week. I agree the cap "saving" is irrelevant, but him being removed early from the six is obviously something Argo fans would be interested in.

I like the Dozier signing. He was seen as a stop gap in Hamilton until Stubblefield was healthy, but he can still be productive. I would think Brown draws in for Laborne. Great news about Kelly AV, but as we know he could be still a way off from returning.

This will be the 4th game he misses since being placed on the 6 game prior to the first Bombers game. By league rules, he will be allowed to practice after this game and not change his 6 game status. Remember, it was prior to the home Bombers game, not after that he went on the 6 game.
I’m not saying he will practice as first string and start against BC, just saying he will be allowed to practice with the team in any capacity after this game.

According to the depth chart issued before the first Wpg game, he was on the one-game IL. The team announced he was on the six the day
after that game, and he had practised once ("limited") in the week leading up to it so I don't see how they would be allowed to "back-date" the six-game. Maybe the league will turn a blind eye to this.

That depth chart is released early in the day. They placed him on the 6 game just before the game so the game counted. It became common knowledge after the game. This was addressed on the post game.
